Well, it has been quite a while since I last posted, and I have to say time has flown by.
Last Year, 2019, saw us re-evaluating our lives and scaling down just a little to work on self care and our work life balance. It's not been easy, it never is when you are self employed. If we don't work, we don't eat, it's as simple as that. Anyway, having enjoyed the summer spending some wonderful weekends at the coast we ended the year with the family spending Christmas all together. Everything was actually beginning to settle down again, despite Robert being seen for pain and discomfort in his groin area. We thought this could well be an old hernia rearing it's ugly head again and needing some attention. Then in the New Year, 3rd January in actual fact, we were told that the results of all the x-rays, MRI's, bloods and biopsies were in. The nurse was very clear in explaining everything, and that was great, but we were still not prepared to hear that Robert now has Prostate Cancer. This was a blow we were not expecting. It seems that he now has to face a whole load of other treatment, possible surgeries, along with all the associated prodding and poking. WHY US? We really don't know why Robert has this to deal with. We do know that there is a family history of Prostate Cancer and his brother has already been diagnosed with this disease. We may never know why we have to go through these trials. Some may say it's a "test", some may say it's "bad luck", we know that God created each and every one of us and he knows the path we will take and the decisions we will make, even if they are not what He has destined for us. We were given free will for a purpose and that's so we can choose to live with God at the centre of our lives, or not. It's entirely up to us. I often think about how God is feeling about our world and how at times he must just sit with His head in His hands and weep for the sorry state of humanity. None of us knows what's around the corner, but whatever happens, we can be sure that it will be a whole lot better with God than without! Jesus promises us that He will never leave us or forsake us and we will stand on that promise as He's never let us down yet. Our time on this planet is very short in the greater scheme of things, so we need to make the best of it. If we have been given this additional burden to become a witness to others, then so be it. We are waiting now for more tests etc to see what the treatment plan will look like but in the meantime, we are praying that God will intervene in whatever way He sees fit. If you are inclined to pray, please add us to your prayer list. Much Love.
